Te Rarawa Gloria Herbert provided Māori Liason Services for Far North District Council, from 1989 to 2002. She was a member of the Northland Conservation Board 1992 to 1999. She has held numerous board appointments in the private and voluntary sector, including Vice Chairperson of the Commonwealth Association for Local Action and Economic Development, 1990 to 1992, member of the Māori Roundtable Group of the New Zealand Planning Council 1988 to 1991, and Te Rarawa representative on the Tai Tokerau Maori Trust Board, 1986 to 1990.
She has 25 years experience of business management of a dairy farm. She has been involved in a wide range of activities focusing on both Māori and community development in Hokianga and Tai Tokerau. She is currently Chairperson of Te Runanga o Te Rarawa, a trustee of the Northland Regional Council Community Trust and a director on the Tai Tokerau Primary Health Organisation.
